Easy recipes for your cat and dog.
Meat Patty for Cats OR Lamb Veggie Biscuits for Dogs
These recipes are species specific and easy to make in your kitchen. Cats particularly need high levels of meat protein and the Meat Patty for cats adds to the nutrient richness with egg, liver and even cricket flour! A touch of rice flour is added to help with the consistency. The Lamb, Veggie, and Rice Biscuits for Dogs recipe adds grated veggies, in this case carrots and broccoli, for added fiber and important vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. (The Meat Patties can also be given to your dog, just don’t tell them you made them for the cat! But the Lamb-Veggie Biscuits aren’t recommended for cats.) Use organic ingredients whenever possible!

Lamb, Veggies and Rice Biscuits for Dogs
Measurement | Ingredient
8 oz | Lamb, ground | ||
1/2 cup | Grated carrots | (Add a teaspoon of finely chopped carrot tops too!)
1/2 cup | Grated broccoli stalk | (A great way to use the stalks often tossed!)
1 | Egg | ||
1 cup | Rice flour | ||
1 tablespoon | Olive oil | ||
1/4 teaspoon | Salt | ||
Place ground lamb in bowl. Grate carrots and broccoli stalk and add to meat. Add egg, olive oil and salt. Blend well then add flour a little at a time. Knead dough until flour well mixed, roll in ball and refrigerate 1 hour or overnight.
To bake, preheat oven to 325 degrees, grease cookie sheet or use parchment paper. Roll dough out on cutting bowl that has been sprinkled with more rice flour. Pat out to approximately 1/4 – 1/2 inch thickness. Bake for 30-40 minutes, depending on thickness. Cooking at a lower temperature for longer time makes a crunchier biscuit. Cool and store in refrigerator.
Baking option: Fill silicone mold (example in photo) about 3/4 filled and bake at 325 degrees for 15-20 minutes, depending on size and depth of mold. Cool, pop out of mold, and store in refrigerator. Can be frozen.
